Lara Brookstein qualified with a Bsc Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town (UCT). After graduating, she completed her community service year at the Johannesburg Metropolitan Clinics where she gained valuable exposure to both outpatient and community work, while working in a multi-disciplinary team.
In 2017, while gaining experience in both private hospital and outpatient settings, Lara completed a one-year postgraduate qualification specialising in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) as well as an course in advanced dry needling. She has also worked at various sporting events both during and after her studies (Sani2Sea, Junior Lions and UCT internal Rugby, Comrades and The Argus). Lara is currently completing a BASI Pilates instructor’s course so that she can start to offer and incorporate pilates into her practice and management of patients.
Using evidence-based approaches, Lara is passionate about identifying the underlying cause of each patient’s problem, while working with them to successfully manage their presenting condition.
In her spare time Lara, herself, is very involved in sports including road and trail running; show jumping; cycling; squash and pilates.
